Our routines can cause rigidity as a leader. When rigid, it causes flexibility that can create tension which leads to stagnation. There's a comfort in being inflexible, it means you don't have to change. Regardless of the reasons why we get comfortable in our routines, to be effective requires agility. Agile leaders are able to think and make decisions quickly and are adaptable. By being prepared through planning they are able to navigate through ambiguity and not be paralyzed by it, even in the midst of a polar vortex.
