The newest League of Leaders award recipient, Michael Snuggs of Meals on Wheels has had quite an inspiring journey. He’s served in the United States Armed Forces, been through the growth challenges of some bad choices, found his Savior and has chosen a life of servant leadership by helping others.

In this episode Michael talks about the goal of Meals on Wheels to help people in need to get a good meal each day. He said that when he first took over the organization they were trying to find what there next steps were as a group and an divinely timed experience brought him together with the organization. At Meals on Wheels, they service Horry and Georgetown County and the meals are free of charge for qualified participants that have no reliable means of getting groceries or safely preparing meals. When he first heard about the organization’s needs the mission called to him. In his years of service they have grown five fold in people they are helping.

One of the most moving things is Michael’s vision. He said that he once had a lot of regrets about his past, but when he formed his relationship with the church and Jesus Christ he was able to drop that baggage and focus on being the best person he could be. He now devotes himself to giving others a chance to know that there are people out there that care about them. Through both Meals on Wheels and his daily life he wants to give others the chance to see the same grace and love that he did when he first changed his life for the better. As part of his vision, he spoke of building a community center that people can come to for support and expansion of service for the purpose of helping more people.

We are proud to have Michael as the League of Leaders winner of the month and hope you can all listen to his amazing story and learn more about his organization.

To help with the cause, Meals on Wheels always appreciates: Volunteers, donations and money contributions.
