This week in the Niche Cache we start by celebrating the World Test Championship and debriefing Auckland City's first game at the Club World Cup. We compare Major League Cricket to Banana Ball and break down Steven Adams extending his time with Houston Rockets. Then we roll through the best performances from the NBL before going deep into NZ Warriors and Kiwi-NRL junior matters. There were wins vs Eels in NSW Cup and Jersey Flegg Cup, a massive Kiwi-NRL junior crew for Knights U21s, Marley Igasan in NRLQ and an introduction to a possible NRLW cult-hero in Emily Curtain. Wellington Phoenix women made a few signings and we reflect on a funky phase for All Whites and NZ U20s. As usual we finish with kiwi cricket notes such as NZ-A women, Dean Foxcroft returning to Central Districts and Blackcaps T20 seamers/hitters.
