In the course of their conversation, Keith and Dr. Rosenberg discuss how we cope with life-altering events, and the universal experiences of loss, grief, and recovery.
Also discussed is Dr. Rosenberg's memoir, Adventure on Joyland Road and Other Stories of Love and Grief, as well as the notion of "the third act" of life, when the inevitability of ageing causes us to examine our lives and make plans for the final third of our time on earth.
Dr. Lisa Rosenberg, PhD, RN, is a retired psychiatric nurse, educator, and leader with
over three decades of experience compassionately helping others, educating students, and championing health equity. She has a Master’s degree in psychiatric nursing, and a PhD in educational psychology.
Dr. Rosenberg was a faculty member at Rush University College of Nursing in Chicago for 30 years, retiring as Associate Dean Emeritus in 2019. She has published numerous articles on topics ranging from nursing college admissions to humor in healthcare and has presented extensively to regional and national audiences. Since 2017, Dr. Rosenberg has been a senior consultant for the American Association of Colleges of Nursing, providing consultations to nursing schools across the country.
In 2025, Dr. Rosenberg published her memoir with Potter’s Wheel Publishing House. Adventure
on Joyland Road and Other Stories of Love and Grief, a poignant exploration of love, loss, and the resilience of the human spirit. She currently lives in the Chicago area, where she continues to consult, mentor, and write.
