Steelers correspondent Mark Kaboly from The Pat McAfee Show joined the show. Mark defended his take that the Steelers had a ‘perfect’ offseason. Mark said they, mostly, accomplished everything they wanted to do. Mark gave his reaction to the TJ Watt signing and how the Steelers avoided 4-5 guaranteed years. Mark looked at this deal versus the one Myles Garrett received from the Browns. Mark thinks the Steelers can get ahead of things this season with Watt, even though he doesn’t think a holdout would have impacted Watt’s production. Mark said moving Watt around on defense will be a key to furthering his longevity. More w/ Mark – Mark believes the TJ Watt ankle injury was worse than what we were hearing late in the season, which impacted him heavily down the stretch. The conversation again went to Watt moving around the defense and how that could lead to a big 2025. Mark doesn’t care for the narrative that Watt isn’t healthy enough because he’s only missed significant time in one season. Steelers correspondent Mark Kaboly from the Pat McAfee Show joined the show. Mark told stories about eating a hoagie at training camp, why he always tweets ‘YEET’ and his experience at Hershey Park. He said his amusement park days are over. What could the big hold ups be in the TJ Watt contract discussions? It appeared like Mark changed the tune a bit on Watt and doesn’t rule out the team trading him for a 2nd round pick. Does Kaboly know something about Watt that he’s not telling us? He made even more last night on-air when he told Donny that Skenes’ best contribution to the Pirates would be the return they get for him in a trade. There also may be a report out there that Ben Cherington has a deal signed through 2028, which would be horrible. We got more clarification on the Ben Cherington contract situation, but found that Neal Huntington and Clint Hurdle were both let go with 2 years remaining on their deals following the 2019 season. MLB insider Bob Nightengale from USA Today joined the show. Bob believes Ke’Bryan Hayes has interest from the Yankees along with a few other buyers around Major League Baseball. He said to look out for the Tigers and Diamondbacks as well. Bob said it may be smarter to hold onto Hayes in the offseason. Bob said there is ‘too much smoke’ around Mitch Keller and he expects him to be on the move with teams like Blue Jays, Yankees and Mets atop the list. Bob said it’s a shame that Paul Skenes has a losing record and wondered if he can be the first Cy Young winner to pull it off. Bob added that he thinks Zach Wheeler deserves to be the front-runner in the NL Cy Young vote and should be the starter in the All Star Game.…
