Greetings from PG Towers! Join social historian Dr Lee Arnott and TV Producer Dave Moor for a lighthearted look at the world of TV, Film and Popular Culture from yesteryear. This week join us on our inaugural Antipodean voyage as we bask in the glory of Prisoner: Cell Block H. Considered a pioneering soap opera from Australia, the female inmates of Wentworth Detention Centre garnered fans spanning the entire globe. Our telly Tardis lands in 1982 and we focus on an episode widely considered a classic. Featuring a showdown between two titans of the show, top dog Bea Smith and sadistic prison warder Joan 'The Freak' Ferguson. As battle commences, a fire rips through the prison and not everyone will make it out alive!
