Welcome again to the Q&A files! Today your host is Trisha Jamison. She is joined with Dr. Jeff and Tony Overbay. We discuss the amazing experience that Trisha and her Daughter Capri have with a generous stranger in a restaurant. Trisha and Capri are shocked!
The experience provokes a lively conversation centered on what kindness can do for the giver, as well as the receiver. The controversy arises when the question comes up, When is Kindness NOT the right thing to do? When does your kindness become too much, or harmful to the giver of kindness in the relationship?
We explore different personalities and situations where kindness uncovers the giver's need to create peace in the relationship, at a huge cost to them. We explore ways to identify if you are providing 'pathologic kindness,' and how to turn the tide of the relationship to one of a balanced power dynamic.
Please give a listen to Tony's podcast, "Waking up to Narcissism," found wherever you get your podcasts.
To request to join the exclusive Waking Up to Narcissism Facebook group, contact Trisha directly at [email protected].
