Marion Nestle, the Paulette Goddard Professor Emerita of Nutrition, Food Studies, and Public Health at New York University, is renowned for her groundbreaking work in unraveling the complexities of food politics and nutrition. With a Ph.D. in molecular biology and an M.P.H. in public health nutrition from UC Berkeley, Nestle's prolific career has earned her honorary degrees from esteemed institutions such as Transylvania University and the City University of New York’s Macaulay Honors College. Notably, she was awarded The Edinburgh Medal in 2023 for her significant contributions to science and society.

Throughout her illustrious career, Nestle has authored numerous acclaimed books, including "Food Politics," "Soda Politics," and "Unsavory Truth: How Food Companies Skew the Science of What We Eat," shedding light on the pervasive influence of the food industry on nutrition and health. Her pioneering research delves into scientific and socioeconomic factors shaping food choice, obesity, and food safety, with a keen focus on the role of corporate influence. Nestle's accolades include the John Dewey Award for Distinguished Public Service, the James Beard Foundation Leadership Award, and the Innovator of the Year Award from the U.S. Healthful Food Council.
