In lots of Facebook groups, all around me, I can see lots of question around Wordpress, because people can’t really understand how it works, what it’s made of.

Wordpress is a great software, it’s free to use (though you need to pay for hosting).

It’s a great way to build a website. It can also create lots of frustration when you don’t know its parts or what you can do and cannot do with it safely.

Today I thought I would explain a bit what is what in a Wordpress site with a metaphor to make it easier. You'll have the answer to these questions.
  • What is Wordpress?
  • What is a plugin?
  • What is a widget?
  • What is a theme and can I change it easily?
  • Why should I be careful with Drag-and-drop themes like Divi
