ANSI Z459.1 - PODCAST - THE ROPE ACCESS AND CLIMBING PODCAST Hello and welcome back to The Rope Access and Climbing Podcast. Today I’m diving into ANSI Z459.1 Rope Access Standard that was just released. I did pay for a version of this standard so I knew what the standard itself said. So I could comment on it a little better. I also spoke with people within SPRAT and Z359. The key point to this is to go in with an open mind and understand that everyone is trying to find the middle ground. It's not easy when you are dealing with standards at the best of times. But when you are trying to build a new standard that now affects your everyday work methods it's hard to see all sides. There are good things about this and bad. No Question there. I dive into some of the main things that I saw in the standard. NO, I CAN NOT SHARE THE STANDARD WITH YOU SO DON'T ASK! This is something that happened many years ago here in Canada. It takes time to see the light at the end of the tunnel. But with hard work, it can happen. Also, this is NOT law so you don't have to follow it as of right now. But I would suggest you get familiar with it. This episode is just a start. I will make more episodes on this topic as I learn more and as things are updated.
