Hey SatsMate Stackers,

There has been a lot of volatility in the markets lately, and with all the uncertainty regarding what is happening with the tariffs - I understand why!

In this podcast, I review the great tariff gamble and the potential downstream implications if our government goes through these tariffs. It is important to ensure we have assets set aside and prepare ourselves

The U.S. is currently saddled with a massive deficit—one we have little hope of repaying or climbing out from under anytime soon.

Because of this, we need to find ways to ensure our country’s long-term survival, even if it means biting the bullet now. In this podcast, I cover the following:

Proposed tariff plan:

  • Baseline tariffs of 10% on imports from all countries.
  • Reciprocal tariffs targeting China, the EU, and other major trade partners.

My thoughts on tariffs, the IRS, and economic ripple effects:

  • Liberation Day has “liberated” a hefty chunk of my money
  • Short term, I’m pretty bearish—markets are shaky, though I expect sell-offs to ease within the next week or so.
  • Medium to long term, I’m very bullish—tariffs could shift trade in our favor if played right.

Timing is key: If Trump’s going to make bold moves, now’s the moment—tariff policies will evolve, and action can’t wait.

Historical lessons:

  • Smoot-Hawley Tariff (1930): Crushed trade, worsened the Great Depression, and sparked political fallout.
  • McKinley Tariff (1890): Boosted industrial output but hiked consumer prices, leading to a Republican election loss.

Current tariffs outlook:

  • Prices will rise—could deepen or prolong a recession.
  • Politically unpopular unless smart deals are cut and markets recover by midterms.

Best Regards,
