5/20/25 - Hugh Owen, founder and director of the Kolbe Center for the Study of Creation, recounts his inspiring journey from a secular upbringing to becoming one of the foremost Catholic voices defending the traditional doctrine of special creation. After converting to the Catholic faith at Princeton University in 1972, Hugh pursued academic studies in history and education, earning degrees from New York University and Bank Street College. He dedicated over two decades to teaching and school administration before turning to full-time writing and Catholic apologetics. In the Jubilee Year 2000, he established the Kolbe Center to unite theologians, scientists, and philosophers who challenge evolutionary theory and uphold the literal and historical interpretation of Genesis 1–11. In this conversation, Hugh shares personal reflections, scholarly insights, and his mission to restore confidence in the Church’s timeless teachings on origins, bridging the gap between faith and science for a new generation.
