In this MEN'S mental health awareness month we talk MEN:)
I was recently faced with a situation where a male friend called me and couldn't stop crying. It was a sudden realisation that i have not paid attention to this -i have never seen a man cry! And, i had no words to console him. I just kept mum and then quickly added -let's coffee!
And, that is the germ of this episode.
Why don't men express themselves?
Especially in front of the women in their lives?
Is it a cultural thing?
Or is it ingrained in them to be MACHO?
Something underlined by moviemakers and advertising makers?
Time to correct this ?
Our guest is Dr Kersi Chavda- an eminent psychiatrist with a huge clientele of people in the public arena- from politicians to actors etc.
We talk:
Men don't cry and why?
Major symptoms in men's mental health
A lot of artists, actors and politicians are ur clients-what are major areas of concern when it comes to people in the public arena?
What needs be done to take care of it?
You can double this up with EP 37 of THE SOS SHOW with Dr. Kersi Chavda on Mental Hygiene.
