Market Rattled by Bond Selloff as Interest Rates Climb Bond market turmoil dominated trading as investors reassessed lending to the United States, pushing interest rates higher and equities lower. Major indices retreated from recent peaks, with the S&P 500, Dow, and small caps all pulling back sharply from technical resistance levels. The Russell 2000 (RTY) small-cap index, a key technical indicator, reversed from its Fibonacci resistance level. Energy stocks faced particular pressure, with XOP and XLE dropping approximately 2% and 1.5% respectively, reflecting concerns about global economic weakness potentially reducing oil demand.
