Book Design Storytime: From Front Cover to Back cover

Friends! We’ve got another workshop happening soon. No spoilers yet, but keep your peepers peeled next week for more juicy deets. Clue: it’s a topic that people request in our inbox all. the. time. 👀

This week’s articles are a fun mix of goodies; a typeface saving us from the horrors of trying to fit type onto a curve, Mexican designers rethinking gendered language through the power of type design, a fresh twist on Roboto, and some cool lessons from a Twitter thread about designing for dark mode (and, if you listen to the podcast, you might learn a new word when Micah and Olivia talk about that).

Grab your blanket and find a comfy spot on the floor, because Nerd Alert is story time this week. Olivia is telling us all about book design and publishing; the process, some of the quirks and considerations of designing for books, and how a book goes from manuscript to something you hold in your mitts. Super design/process nerdy and interesting. We love.

As usual, if you spot anything cool on the internets that you’d like us to chat about, hit us up on Twitter or Instagram, you’ll find us @theleagueof on both platforms.
