On Episode 14 of the TID Water & Power Podcast we sit down with author and historian Dr. Alan Paterson to discuss the history of the District and region.
TID was officially formed on June 6, 1887 as the first irrigation district in California and began its mission of serving our community – now for 135 years. As we celebrate 135 years of service the Central Valley of California, we wanted to deep dive into the rich history of how the District was formed and what the early years were like for the District and customers.

On this episode we discuss life within the region prior to TID, how the District became the first irrigation district in the state, and how the region changed in those early years after TID’s formation.
