James comes from a family of dentists, but as a young man he wanted to do the opposite of his parents and so he shunned the corporate world to become a personal trainer and proud owner of personal training studio BTX in London. The gym faced some real challenges during lockdown, landing James in hot water with the police. Despite some adverse publicity in the Daily Mail, for flaunting lockdown rules, James persevered and built a successful business, however, winning in business doesn’t equate to winning in life. James knew his relationship was in trouble but he went ahead with marriage anyway. His relationship came to an abrupt end in the same week his best man died of an overdose and his mum received a terminal cancer diagnosis. It’s difficult to believe James’ assertion at that time “I’m completely fine” but if you listen to his whole story you might better understand James’ controversial views about taking responsibility and find out how he really coped with devastation.
