Breaking It was a horrifying scene last night when an American Eagle regional jet, flight 5342, on its way from Wichita, Kansas, collided with a U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter during its approach to Reagan Washington National Airport. Eyewitnesses reported seeing a bright flash in the sky before both aircraft plunged into the frigid waters of the Potomac River.

Authorities confirm that the passenger jet was carrying 60 passengers and four crew members, while the helicopter had three soldiers onboard for a routine training mission. So far, 28 bodies have been recovered, but officials say they do not expect to find any survivors.
