Special thanks to Kendra for being a part of this episode of Unattainable Podcast Show
Kendra Shoemaker shares how surviving a near-death experience at age seven fundamentally shaped her fearless approach to life and adventure. From leaving home at 16 to pursue ballet to building her own van to live in, her remarkable journey demonstrates how embracing challenges leads to personal growth.
• Surviving lacrosse encephalitis (brain swelling from a mosquito bite) at age 7 gave Kendra a unique perspective on life and death
• Left her small Minnesota hometown at 16 to attend pre-professional ballet academy in Pennsylvania
• Attended an "outdoor college" with 30-day backpacking and river rafting trips as classes
• Built and lived in her own van conversion during the pandemic, complete with power tools and custom furniture
• Prefers driven, ambitious partners over purely physical attributes in relationships
• Believes in manifestation from a philosophical standpoint - setting goals makes you more likely to make choices leading to those outcomes
• Values surrounding herself with like-minded friends who share her passion for outdoor activities
Life is too short not to embrace adventure – get out of your comfort zone and see what you're capable of achieving.
