History favors the male. Or, more specifically, the way history has been recorded and taught favors the male. Nalini Chetty joins us this week to set us to rights and discuss some of the women of Scottish history who have been left out of the narrative, from Margaret Bulkley to Maggie Dickson (we promise they aren't all named Margaret) we're having a blether about gender, race and Sara Sheridan's book Where Are The Women?
Our lovely guest, Nalini
Hear Nalini on BBC's The Reveal
Sara Sheridan's Where are the Women? A Guide to an Imagined Scotland
Margaret Bulkley/James Barry
Half Hangit Maggie
Bruce Fummey's YouTube Channel (Scotland History Tours)
The Fair Botanists by Sara Sheridan
Meantime by Frankie Boyle
