On July 5, 2004, five-year-old Tamra Jewel Keepness vanished from her home in Regina, Saskatchewan, in a case that continues to haunt the community. Despite exhaustive searches, numerous leads, and a $50,000 reward that remains unclaimed, the mystery of what happened to Tamra that night has never been solved.

Tamra lived with her mother, stepfather, siblings, and others in a crowded house in Regina’s Core neighbourhood. The night she disappeared was chaotic, with people coming and going, arguments erupting, and tensions running high. By the following morning, when her mother went to wake her, Tamra was gone. There were no signs of forced entry, no obvious clues—just an eerie absence that sent shockwaves through the city.

Investigators considered multiple theories: Was she taken by someone she knew? Did she wander off and meet with misfortune? Or was she abducted by an unknown predator? The lack of definitive evidence left the case wide open, and over the years, rumours, theories, and unanswered questions have only deepened the mystery.

Tamra Keepness became one of Canada’s most high-profile missing persons cases, drawing national attention and renewed scrutiny of systemic issues affecting Indigenous families. Every year, Regina residents gather to honour her memory, refusing to let her story fade into obscurity.

Nearly two decades later, the question remains: What really happened to Tamra Keepness? In our episode of Unsolved Canadian Mysteries, we examine the testimonies of those in the house that night, the police investigation, and the chilling possibilities surrounding her disappearance. Join us on Spotify and YouTube as we explore one of Saskatchewan’s most haunting mysteries.
