AFC Bournemouth and Reading FC are at the Polar Opposites of the Football Ownership spectrum. However it wasn't always like this...

The two clubs regularly followed each other around the divisions many years ago with the Cherries at the old Dean Court and Reading at Elm Park - they were two clubs seen very much in the same light.

Eventually an uptick of fortunes at Reading under Sir John Madejski propelled the Royals towards the Premier League, 8 years after the opening of the impressive Madejski Stadium. Meanwhile AFC Bournemouth struggled to keep the lights on.

Fortunes however changed and under several good owners such as Eddie Mitchell, Maxim Demin and now Bill Foley, the Cherries find themselves closing in on a European place.

The Royals however were sold by Madejski to Anton Zingarevich, a Thai consortium and finally Dai Yongge who has driven the club to destruction. The fortunes of the two clubs have flipped. But there may be some very good news on the horizon with Robert Platek heavily linked.

We spoke with someone who knows more than most about the dealings at both clubs and who has shared with us the Good, the Bad and the Ugly at each whilst also discussing Multi Club Ownership at AFCB and how this model may help Reading FC. And than man is expert Jason Stephens as we delve into things further.

Jason discusses Bill's Black Knight Football Group and how he has bought success but also what his motives may be.

We also cover Reading FC's men in the picture such as Dai himself, Nigel Howe who was tasked with selling the club, Rob Couhig who has tried buying the club (and is now in a legal battle with Dai himself) plus a glowing reference for Mark Bowen.

So please do enjoy this informative look at the polar opposites and how very soon both clubs may be linked via a club in Portugal!
