In this episode I am honored to visit with Nick Jones. Nick is a retired Marine Raider, recipient of the 2nd highest military decoration, the Navy Cross, awarded to sailors and Marines who distinguish themselves for extraordinary heroism in combat with an armed enemy force. In addition to the navy cross he has received the purple heart and the navy and marine corps commendation medal with combat V for valor, among other awards. During a battle with Isis in March of 2020 Nick was shot while working to help comrades escape, fight off Isis attackers, and recover the bodies of two of his fellow Marie Raiders. Gunnery Sgt Diego D Pongo and Capt. Moises A Navas may they never be forgotten.
Nick has, as you can imagine walked through pain and adversity, having found his calling in serving our country, committing to doing whatever it takes to be and do his best, to losing his purpose and too many brothers. Nick is still walking through the pain physically, mentally and emotionally. He shares his walk with us today and how he is healing and helping other warriors find healing too.
