Episode Description: Jessica B. Harris may have been born and raised in New York City, but she has Tennessee roots through her father and has spent much of her life split between homes in the Northeast and the South – specifically New Orleans. For more than fifty years, she has been a college professor, a writer, and a lecturer, and her many books have earned her a reputation as an authority on food of the African Diaspora, as well as a lifetime achievement award from the James Beard Foundation. A few years back, Netflix adapted her book, High on the Hog: A Culinary Journey from Africa to America , into a 4 part docuseries. And I’m very proud to say that she’s a longtime contributor to Southern Living with a regular column called The Welcome Table. This episode was recorded in the Southern Living Birmingham studios, and Sid and Jessica talked about her mother’s signature mac and cheese, the cast-iron skillet she’d be sure to save if ever her house were on fire, and her dear friend, the late New Orleans chef Leah Chase. I want to say this episode is full of the wit and warmth of a new season, but in truth, we've managed to get an hour out of us saying it's all a complete shambles and none of us know what's going on. There are some nuggets about tactics and systems, but really, it's just us three having a bit of a moan after thinking there may be a new manager to discuss. Knowing this club, it'll probably be out of date by Monday lunchtime. Anyway, enjoy it if you can. What a shambles! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.…

The season is done and it’s not been fun, so here’s a podcast, one last one. The relegation rollercoaster has reached its stop, a new manager needed, one to take us back to the top. The summer gives us a bit of a break but never fear, dear listeners, pods will be in their usual place. Just a bit less frequent. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.…
And with that, Cardiff City's 24/25 season has ended. Because Phillips is running a half marathon in Sydney, Ryan March from Alternative Wales joins us to talk about Norwich, the direction the club is going in, and just what a disaster it all is. Ken Choo out. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.…

Cardiff City have finally been relegated. The inevitable has happened. It felt like a slow road to relegation, but after drawing with WBA, other results confirmed our fate. This is a bit of a therapy session, so hopefully it brings you some catharsis. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.…

The hope drains out of the pod this week after Cardiff City drew 1-1 with Oxford. After Aaron Ramsey took over, we were full of hope, but that hope has been extinguished thanks to a world-class strike from Oxford. The boys discuss that game and look ahead to West Brom. We also hear from Mark Lewis, a Cardiff City fan from Merthyr who has been working with PHS on their Back in the Game campaign. Their Back In The Game report is here . We spoke to Mark about Cardiff City, how his illness has impacted going to games, and the work he's been doing to get sanitary bins in male toilets at football grounds. This episode was originally broadcast as a live stream on YouTube and Twitter. Cardiff City sack Omer Riza and Aaron Ramsey has taken over. Could it be too little, too late? Probably. But it is exciting! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

It's not really a coherent episode this week but Cardiff City aren't really a coherent football club. It's a bit of a therapy session, cathartic, It was helpful for us to get stuff off our chest. Cardiff City are looking slightly cooked in the relegation battle. We're slightly cooked, too. It's been a long season. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.…

Yep, back again (shoutout to Smiv) with another alarmingly similar podcast to last week. Another week, another disappointing draw this time away in the sun of West London. Cardiff City and Queens Park Rangers toiled to a 0-0 draw, with little goalmouth action and little fun to be had. You know the drill by now. Cardiff City fans, get cathartic with us. Hosted on Acast. After a pre-international break win against Blackburn Rovers, Cardiff City have found themselves in the same familiar pessimistic position following a 1-1 draw against Sheffield Wednesday. It's not that getting a point is bad; it's the performance and how we did it. We break out all the hits; Riza's a nice guy but he's out of his depth, the club is badly run, and the feeling that we may somehow avoid relegation... Hosted on Acast. After some misplaced optimism on last weeks episode, Cardiff City brought everyone back down to earth with two losses against Burnley and Sunderland. The Bluebirds played well against Burnley, less so against Sunderland, now we're in existential crisis about subs, tactics, and Omer Riza. Still, only Luton on Tuesday. Hosted on Acast.
