Julie Rocco, Founder of What I Would Have Missed shares I Will See You Tomorrow. Julie wrote the lyrics and with help from her friends, music was put to the words. Julie is in a band called The Tall Order. The Tall Order and guest musicians played I Will See You Tomorrow. This is the recording of that performance. Here are the lyrics to the song:

I open my eyes

Cause I’m alive

They say, God had other plans

That I can’t understand

So, I sign on the line

That swears its my last time

A heavy burden to hold

Give life another try I’m told

But I don’t know

Why they just won’t let me go

When there’s nothing I’m gonna miss

But they tell me

We will see you tomorrow

Won’t you please hold on ‘til then

I’ll try

We will see you tomorrow

We will come back again

But I don’t know why

I hold the hand of the greatest man

I’ve ever known

To let him know he’s not alone

I whisper, “I love you”

As my heart is breaking

One final breath

I say, “I’m already missing you”

And I cry as I realize

This is what I would have missed

I wish that I could see him tomorrow

I wish that I could see him again

It’s not goodbye

I wish that I could see him tomorrow

I know someday I will see him again

We will meet again on high

Oh girl, you are so beautiful

And everything that’s magical

Daddy’s little girl and your mommy’s whole world

And I can see the road in front of you

Dreams to chase and fears to face

Girl I’m gonna teach you

To take up space

This is what I will not miss

I will see you tomorrow

I will hold on ‘til then

My, my

I will see you tomorrow

I will see you again

How time flies

BRIDGE

And when everything turns dark

Until the next sunrise waves hello

I will hold on tight until I see the light

And I won’t let go

I will see you tomorrow

I will hold on ‘til then

I will see you tomorrow

I will see you again

Now I look around

At all the love I have found

And I close my eyes

As I begin to pray

For the strength to keep

The promise I made

I will see you tomorrow

To stay

Ooooo—I will see you tomorrow

Ooooo—I will see you again

Ooooo-- I will see you tomorrow

I will see you again

What I Would Have Missed shares stories of suicide attempt and ideation survivors and periodically hosts interviews with suicide attempt and ideation survivors. This is a place where shame dies and stories are shared in a safe space. What I Would Have Missed honors every story, each journey, and all humans. Stories are shared to celebrate how far we have come, acknowledge the moments we would have missed, and illuminate a path of hope for others.

What I Would Have Missed also seeks to share stories of individuals who love someone who has died by suicide. We reflect on the moments we have missed sharing with our loved ones as a result of their suicide. This tender space of reflection echos our grief and reminds us of the reverberation of the loss.

What I Would Have Missed will have short, daily podcast episodes called Rays of Light and also have longer interviews every other week with suicide loss survivors as well as suicide attempt and ideation survivors. Rays of Light will be either a brief What I Would Have Missed message from a suicide ideation and/or attempt survivor, words of wisdom, wellness tips, or a What You Have Missed message from a suicide loss survivor to remember an individual who has died by suicide. Enjoy our daily rays of light.
