The discussion highlights that while the government aims to ensure individuals prepare for retirement, it doesn't necessarily have a stake in the specific method chosen. Therefore, if someone prefers to save by paying off a mortgage rather than accumulating superannuation, governmental obstruction of that choice seems unwarranted.
