Welcome investigators to "Petroglyphs of the Forgotten Gods." It's 1926, and our setting is the French colonial territory of Upper Volta, now known as Burkina Faso. The rainy season has just ended, leaving behind a lush landscape that will soon give way to the harsh Sahelian dry season. You are part of a joint expedition between Miskatonic University and the Société Géographique de Paris, sent to investigate unusual rock formations and ancient petroglyphs discovered near Loropéni in the southwest. Reports of strange phenomena have caught the attention of your academic institutions, and with the recent discovery of medieval ruins in the region, you've been dispatched to document and study these findings.
