Wintrust Business Minute: United Airlines announces start date for Starlink WiFi

Chicago-based United Airlines has announced the start date of its new faster inflight Wi-Fi using Starlink, in May. According to Crain’s, the airline will put the service on regional jets first and hopes to have Starlink installed by the end of this year on its fleet of 300 regional jets. The service is part of the airline’s push to land more customers with amenities and perks. Starlink will provide Wi-Fi speeds up to 250 megabits per second, which would be about 50 times faster than the current service. The service will be free to members of the United Mileage Plus loyalty program.
