Downtown Enterprise is set to come alive with furry friends, live music, and patriotic spirit during the first annual “Military, Mutts, and Music” event this Saturday, May 10, from 11am to 4pm.

Wiregrass Daily News recently caught up with Stephanie Brumberg, chairperson of the event, and her canine companion, Louis, to talk about the highly anticipated event that organizers hope will become a beloved community tradition.

The inaugural event promises a full day of family- and pet-friendly activities, with support from local vendors and a variety of appreciated community sponsors, and volunteers.

Some of the attractions include Pup Cup stations, a patriotic tattoo booth, and a rock climbing wall provided by the National Guard. Local food trucks and businesses will be on site, and downtown restaurants are participating with a special “Yappy Hour,” offering treats for both pets and their owners.

The Enterprise High School Jazz Band will be performing live music at 11:30am, and more local artists will be performing throughout the rest of day from 1pm to 3pm.

The schedule features two pet contests: a Patriotic Wear Contest at 12pm and a Best Trick Contest at 3pm. Attendance is free, and no tickets are required. However, attendees can purchase a $10 event passport for a chance to win swag bags valued at $100, $150, or $500.

Passports and contest registration are available online at www.friendsofmainstreetenterprise.com. All proceeds from the event will benefit the SOS No Kill Shelter.

The community is encouraged to attend, bring their pets, and enjoy a day in downtown Enterprise while supporting a meaningful cause.
