Balance in your life is an overhyped myth.
If you're chasing perfect balance, you've found the fast track to the hamster wheel of disappointment. You'll be working on that mission the rest of your life.
If, however, you're looking for more work life harmony, you'll find it when you pay attention to your investments. When I say investments, I'm talking about time, money, relationship capital etc. All those things that continually put effort into and have the opportunity to grow and thrive over time.
If you're choosing to invest heavily in a business venture, and neglect to invest in family, health, your spiritual life, and your finances, you may wake up one day to find many of those areas bankrupt.
Choosing a timeframe of intense investment in certain areas might be a better strategy.
If you're launching a business, taking some of your time you may have allocated towards family might be a smart play in the short term. But when that sacrifice becomes medium term and then long term, you'll see the effects of a poor investment strategy.
