Today we’re joined again by Rick for a slightly different kind of Beach House. This year we’ve been trying to transition away from splitting up our series so much, hoping to eventually be covering most anime in one episode. So of course we immediately have two experiments diverging from that simple goal. Last time was half a Toku show and I think it worked well.
Today is Volume 1 of Akira! We’ll be doing shorter Akira episodes every four to six weeks, nothing rigidly planned just when we can fit them in, but we’d like to be regular about them. We thought if anything deserved the more episodic approach it was Otomo’s famously dense manga. And if this episode is anything to go by, we’re in for a great time.
