A gothic romance, a tortured protaganist, an air of spirtualism and mesmerism as the dawn of the new age sees the last of the real magic dying, oh and what of the magic of love you say? I think you'll find it powerful. If you're looking for a different pace of film stuffed with practical effects and every in demand character actor of the early 90s you will be in for a treat.
