Canadians celebrate our national day with pride fuelled in part by the US tariff war and talk of becoming the 51st state. The phrase elbows up entered the Canadian lexicon along with an attitude to hit back. It’s generated a boom for Canadian product makers, with a new ‘buy Canadian’ attitude — but has also scared off American tourists that we are trying to win back.

And: Graduating from school into today’s job market is scarier now than it has been for decades. The pandemic, exploding inflation, now a tariff war mean fewer jobs, and shrinking opportunities. Finding any kind of job can be a full time job for today’s grads.
