Today's guest on the Intentional Health for Women Podcast is Sharla Peterson, a woman with an incredible journey. Sharla has been passionate about health and fitness from a very young age, dedicating her life to staying active and strong. At 51, she decided to take her fitness journey to the next level by competing in bodybuilding. With determination and hard work, she successfully completed her first season, embracing the challenge with confidence.

However, life took an unexpected turn. Just seven months after her hernia surgery, Sharla faced a devastating event. Her L1 vertebra exploded, compressing her spinal cord, and paralyzing her from the waist down. The sudden paralysis brought an unimaginable challenge, but Sharla refused to let this stop her. Despite the tragedy, she found the strength to push forward, determined not to let her condition define her future.

In an incredible display of resilience, Sharla returned to the gym and, within just 10 months, made an inspiring comeback to the bodybuilding stage. This time, she competed as a wheelchair competitor and went on to earn her IFBB pro card. Sharla's story is a powerful testament to the strength of the human spirit, proving that with perseverance, even the most difficult obstacles can be overcome.
