Nisha is a leading scholar, educator, and advocate in drama therapy and the arts in health. She is the Director of the Program in Drama Therapy and Theatre & Health Lab at NYU, founder of Arts & Health @ NYU, and Chair of the NYU Creative Arts Therapies Consortium. As co-director of the Jameel Arts & Health Lab, established in collaboration with the WHO, she leads a global Lancet series on the health benefits of the arts.
At NYU Abu Dhabi, Nisha developed Can Art Save Lives?, a transdisciplinary course linking arts, health, and policy. She is also a faculty advisor in NYU's Rehabilitation Sciences and Educational Theatre programs, co-teaching Improvisation and Leadership at NYU Stern. Additionally, she lectures on arts and displacement at the Harvard Program in Refugee Trauma.
An award-winning author, Nisha has co-authored and edited books on drama therapy, intercultural practice, and co-production in health. Her research has been published in The Lancet, Frontiers in Psychology, and The Arts in Psychotherapy, among others. She has co-produced films and exhibitions, including Drama Therapy as Performance and Fostering Democracy Through Theater.
A founding member of the World Alliance of Drama Therapy, Nisha has received numerous awards, including the NADTA’s Gertrud Schattner Award and the APA’s Global Women’s Advocacy Award. She holds a PhD from Concordia University and a certificate in Climate Change and Health from Yale.

A lecturer at Queensland University of Technology, Dr Taylor's research explores the emotional and social intelligence required for creative practice, the interpersonal dynamics of collaboration, and the crucial question of "how can we work together better?" Her work frequently investigates the often-overlooked contributions of technical practitioners in the creative process, with insights applicable across the performing arts. As co-director of The Stitchery Collective , a Meanjin/Brisbane-based design group focused on prompting social and cultural change through creative practice, Madeline has championed innovative approaches to inclusivity and sustainability. Her academic credentials include a PhD from University of Melbourne, a research internship at London's Victoria & Albert Museum, and serving as Treasurer for ScenoLab, Australia’s OISTAT centre. She is currently a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellow at Aalto University with a project exploring how and why (or why not) costume practitioners are adopting Industry 4.0 technologies. As co-director of The Stitchery Collective , a Meanjin/Brisbane-based design group focused on prompting social and cultural change through creative practice, Madeline has championed innovative approaches to inclusivity and sustainability. Her academic credentials include a PhD from University of Melbourne, a research internship at London's Victoria & Albert Museum, and serving as Treasurer for ScenoLab, Australia’s OISTAT centre. She is currently a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellow at Aalto University with a project exploring how and why (or why not) costume practitioners are adopting Industry 4.0 technologies. A licensed Australian rigger and electrician, Tiny holds numerous qualifications, including ETCP Arena and Theatre Rigger, Australian Arena Rigger (a qualification he co-developed), rope technician, scaffolder, crane driver, and aerial rigger. He is also a co-author and coordinator for the International Code of Practice for Entertainment Rigging (ICoPER), including its Chinese translation. Tiny's portfolio spans two Olympic Games (Sydney and Athens), three Commonwealth Games (Melbourne, Delhi, Gold Coast), 41 Carols by Candlelight , and extensive tours across Australia, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and North America. He has worked with organizations like Circus Oz, Cirque du Soleil, and NICA, providing rigging, production management, and training. In 2012, Sarah started her casting career with Cirque du Soleil, first as an Artistic Advisor until 2017, when she became the Head of Casting for the Las Vegas Resident Show Division for 3 more years. In 2021, fulfilling her need to broaden her experience, Sarah joined Action Horizons, a global stunt company, as the Creative Manager for The Bourne Stuntacular in Orlando, where she cast, trained and managed daily operations for a roster of 80 performers. In 2023, Sarah joined Feld Entertainment, serving as their Director of Casting and Performance for all stage and floor shows. In the beginning of this year, Sarah was offered to add Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey, to her portfolio. She is the founder and director of artEquity, a national organization that provides tools, resources, and training to support the intersections of art and activism. She has provided leadership development and organizational planning for staff, executives, and boards for over 100 non-profit organizations. She is the 2020 recipient of the Paul Robeson Award by Actors’ Equity Association and Actors’ Equity Foundation and a YBCA 100 honoree. She’s on faculty at Yale’s David Geffen School of Drama where she addresses issues of identity, equity, and inclusion in the arts. For over twelve years she worked with the Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF) on structural and organizational equity. With her guidance, OSF implemented innovative programming, policies, and new organizational structures to support ongoing inclusion efforts. In addition, she served as the consultant for Theatre Communications Group’s diversity and inclusion initiatives and programming, where she partnered with TCG to launch a national Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Institute for theatres. She has supported national and regional cohorts and provided customized resources to theaters and arts organizations in the US and Canada, including Art Institute of Chicago, National Endowment for the Arts, New York Theatre Workshop, Woolly Mammoth, Long Wharf Theater, Hubbard Street Dance, Stages Repertory, Denver Center for the Performing Arts, Cal Shakes, Steppenwolf, New York Foundation for the Arts, Association for the Performing Arts Service Organization, League of American Orchestras, Opera America, Association of Performing Arts Presenters, and Professional Association of Canadian Theatres, to name a few. Prior to founding artEquity, for fifteen years Carmen directed Leadership Development in Interethnic Relations (LDIR), a nationally-recognized social justice program co-sponsored by Asian Americans Advancing Justice, the Central American Resource Center, and the Martin Luther King Dispute Resolution Center. Marsh has since served the company through his juggling, acrobatics, and creative energy. After working as a corporate attorney in New York, Marsh ran away to re-join the circus, inspired to help Circus Flora create new and innovative productions.
