a spotlight on the Scripture Daniel 3:24-25 Then King Nebuchadnezzar was astonished and rose up in haste. He declared to his counselors, “Did we not cast three men bound into the fire?” They answered and said to the king, “True, O king.” He answered and said, “But I see four men unbound, walking in the midst of the fire, and they are not hurt; and the appearance of the fourth is like a son of the gods.”

Beloved, the story of the boldness and amazing rescue of the three holy men teaches believers to be steadfast in upholding the truth, even in the face of oppression and death. Christians should especially learn from their example, both in faith and in integrity in business, to never sacrifice their consciences. Having a clear conscience and an honest heart is more valuable than all the wealth in the world. Better to have a simple meal with love than a feast with conflict. A little peace is worth more than a lot of gold; a bit of innocence is better than a lot of flattery. But notice, that the text shows three of God's people in a fiery furnace, which is a common situation spiritually. It's normal for Christians to face trials. Just as the firer poker was said to live in fire, Christians often endure hardships.

Sometimes trials are severe, like when the furnace was heated seven times hotter for the three holy men. We may feel like we're enduring the worst afflictions. Listen, when we feel bound and helpless and unable to help ourselves in our trials. Despite the appearances, God keeps His saints safe even in the worst situations. This is a spotlight on the Scripture
