In today's world where truth is often viewed as subjective and personal, the concept of absolute truth - universal principles that remain constant across all times and cultures - becomes increasingly significant. This tension between relative and absolute truth directly impacts our ability to distinguish right from wrong and establish justice in society. When we abandon absolute truth, we risk becoming wise in our own eyes, creating arbitrary rules that lead to inconsistent living.Jesus positions himself as the embodiment of reality and the ultimate source of truth about God, humanity, creation, and morality. He offers not just guidance, but serves as the exclusive path to understanding God and finding genuine wisdom. When people reject this absolute truth, they inevitably turn to idols - anything that provides temporary identity or satisfaction. This leads to a process of dehumanization as people become like what they worship, choosing paths that lead to spiritual decay rather than life. The solution lies in examining our sources of truth and aligning our lives with the unchanging principles found in Jesus. This involves identifying and removing idols that compete for supremacy in our lives and consciously building our foundation on solid, unchanging truth rather than shifting cultural perspectives.
