On this episode of CommonVoice, host Jamie Reilly sits down with Jeni Stolow, assistant professor of instruction in social and behavioral sciences, to discuss topics ranging from social determinants of health to global health issues. Dr. Stolow is trained in behavioral science at the intersection of public health, medical anthropology and infectious disease outbreaks. She has experience in risk communication, health promotion and community-based participatory research.
In our efforts to maintain and improve population health, it is hard to always get it right. When it comes to health threats, when do we inform? When do we incentivize? When do we frighten? Dr. Stolow shares some insights on how to consider individual and behavioral factors and how to leverage those elements for public health.
