Pentecost marks the birth of the Church when the Holy Spirit descended upon the disciples, enabling them to speak in languages they never learned. Peter explained this miracle to the crowd, connecting it to Joel's prophecy about God pouring out His Spirit. About 3,000 people were baptized that day, joining the first Christian community.
