Too many soldiers struggle with PTSD. The media typically only tells one side of the story.......the struggle. Many soldiers are able to get help and learn how to manage their illness. Veteran David Ervin tells us how he has found POST TRAUMATIC GROWTH after learning how to manage his personal battle with the struggles come from PTSD. He is the author of 'Leaving The Wire' which chronicles his experiences in Iraq. David is another success story that has come out of Military Experience & The Arts (militaryexperience.org). Experts think PTSD occurs (via www.ptsd.va.gov):

  • In as many as 10% of Gulf War (Desert Storm) Veterans, or in 10 Gulf War Veterans out of 100.
  • In about 30% of Vietnam Veterans, or about 30 out of 100 Vietnam Veterans.
