Can AI compress the years long research time of a PhD into seconds? Research scientist Max Jaderberg explores how “AI analogs” simulate real-world lab work with staggering speed and scale, unlocking new insights on protein folding and drug discovery. Drawing on his experience working on Isomorphic Labs' and Google DeepMind's AlphaFold 3 — an AI model for predicting the structure of molecules — Jaderberg explains how this new technology frees up researchers' time and resources to better understand the real, messy world and tackle the next frontiers of science, medicine and more. Fantasy Baseball Live – July 13, 2025 @ 3 pm Microsoft Teams Segments 1 and 2 – Review the Weekend Games Additional Questions 1.Any thoughts on yesterday’s Futures Game? 2.Christian Encarnacion Strand was demoted. I know I sound like a broken record, but when you never walk, it doesn’t matter if you hit six home runs in five weeks; teams don’t want you if you’re sporting a low OBP. In CES’s case, it was .234. 3.Andrew Vaughn got called up for the Brewers to replace Rhys Hoskins and is hitting .429 with two home runs this week. Thoughts? a.I suppose the White Sox didn’t actually need him with all their talent. 4.Sean Manaea was finally activated. He performed well last season, and his underlying data looked very strong. Thoughts? 5.When I broke down PCA for our Patreon members a few weeks back, I told them that either PCA or Ceddanne Rafaela had to correct, as their baseballsavant pages looked almost identical. Rafeala has hit .400 in July with four home runs and two stolen bases. Thoughts? 6.Brady House hit his first two home runs as a Major Leaguer on Saturday. 7.Austin Riley hit the IL. Is it Nacho time in Atlanta? 8.Jacob Misiorowski makes the All-Star Game. a.Your thoughts? Segments 3 and 4 – Waiver Wire Segment 5 – Closer Report Close…

Are we looking at the real deal here? He’s been great over the past month. 4.Matt Chapman and Wyatt Langford both return on Saturday. Who do you like better in the second half? 5.Michael Busch hit three home runs on Friday, and my fantasy teams definitely appreciate it. He’s having a great season with a .288 batting average, 17 home runs, and 55 RBIs. However, he’s only started eight games against lefties. Will the Cubs give him a full-time role or keep him as a strong-side platoon option? 6.Colson Montgomery was promoted on Friday. I’ve downshifted on his because he’s striking out a third of the time. I’m sure people will lay big money down because he’s a famous prospect and had a good game. a. Your thoughts on him for the second half? Segment 3 – Waiver Wire Segment 4 – Closer Report Close…

Fantasy Baseball Live – June 29, 2025 @ 3 pm ET Microsoft Teams Segments 1 and 2: Review the weekend games Additional Topics 1. Quinn Priester is on a roll. In five games in the month of June, he’s 4-0 with a 1.98 ERA, 9.55 K/9 and 1.65 BB/9. This is what I wrote at the time of the trade: After looking at the data, I see the allure and why the price was so high. The arsenal looks like a mid-rotation starter and he throws strikes. With proper pitching instruction- at least that’s what every organization will say- you should be able to get Priester to throw better strikes. Since the Brewers are a great organization in his aspect of the game, there could be some sneaky value here. I would be a buyer. He’s better than his stat line. 2. Cam Smith is starting to heat up. In June, he’s hitting .318 with four of his seven home runs. 3. David Festa had a great start on Friday against the Tigers. When do we start to trust him? 4. Wyatt Langford hits the IL with an oblique strain. Ugh. Who gets his at-bats? 5. Matt Vierling is back. Are you ready to put him right back in your lineup? Take 10 with Tim – June 27, 2025 @ 9:30/8:30 am Microsoft Teams 1.Chase Burns. Well, what did you think? 2.They both got started late, but what are the chances that Nick Kurtz and Jacob Misiorowski win the Rookie of Year honors? a.Nick Kurtz - .255/.313/.523, 11 home runs. The 11 home runs lead all rookies, actually tied with Agustin Ramirez b.Jacob Misiorowski – 16.0 IP, 3 wins, 1.13 ERA. i.Oddly, I might as the same question about another Brewer, Logan Henderson. But, he’s pitching in Triple-A. BTW, since Henderson was demoted, he’s pitched to a 2.66 ERA with 25 strikeouts and eight walks. c.Here’s another I don’t understand. Emmet Sheenen pitched six perfect innings on Wednesday – in Oklahoma City. 3.First the Diamondbacks lose Corbin Burnes and now they lose Corbin Carroll with a fractured wrist. Do you think the Diamondbacks have enough to compete or will they become sellers are the deadline and reload for 2026? a.Who gets the Carroll’s playing time? 4.Deadline trades – We will each provide two trades we would like to see. Here are my two: a.The Marlins trade Sandy Alcantara to the Orioles for 1B/C Sam Basallo, RHP Zach Fruit, and a young high-upside player like Nate George i.Alcantara is signed for two more years and a reasonable 17.3 million. He’s not pitched well, but I still think he’ll require a huge return. b.The Diamondbacks trade Eugenio Suarez to the Tigers for a mid-tier prospect like Max Anderson or Jaden Hamm. 5.The Rays have recalled Chandler Simpson. Will he get enough at-bats to pick up? 6.Trevor Rogers pitched well this week. The Orioles are having him throw his fastball more often, and the velocity he lost in 2024 has improved this season. He’s always had a great change-up, although it isn’t generating as many whiffs as before. What are your thoughts on his prospects going forward? 7.What hitter are you targeting for this weekend’s FAAB 8.What pitcher are you targeting for this weekend’s FAAB…

Fantasy Baseball Live – June 22, 2025 Microsoft Teams Segments 1 and 2: Review the weekend games Additional Topics 1. A topic I forgot to bring up on Friday was the Raffy Devers trade. It happened on Sunday evening after our podcast. I wrote up 1500 words for our Patreon members. What did you think? 2. How did Jacob Misiorowski eclipse his five-inning, no-hit debut? He pitched six perfect innings on Friday night before allowing a hit and then his first run. Unbelievable. a. Not to be out done, Clarke Schmidt pitched seven no-hit innings on Saturday afternoon against the Orioles. 3. Chris Sale hits the IL with a fractured bone in his ribcage. I didn’t think last year was their year. Maybe this year is not. Who do they turn to for his starts? 4. Jack Burger hits the IL with a left oblique strain. a. It sounds like Justin Foscue will get the call. Any interest? 5. Adley Rutschman hits the IL and Tim’s dream of a Sam Basallo call up is still on hold. I’m disappointed too. 6. Nick Kurtz hit another home run on Friday, making it three in a row. From Friday’s Podcast Segment 3 – Waiver Wire Segment 4 – Closer Report Close…

Take 10 with Tim – June 20, 2025 1.This time next week, we will be at the halfway point in the season. What three pieces of advice do you have for fantasy managers who are in the upper half of their roto league? a.Same question for H2H Leagues 2.Order these five young pitchers for the rest of this season, then next season, then 3 years out a.Roki Sasaki (LAD, 23) – Currently on the IL – 5, 5, 5 b.Cade Horton (CHC, 23) – 36.1 IP, 3.47 ERA, 7.18 K/9, 1.98 BB/9 – 1, 1, 1 c.Logan Evans (Sea, 24) – 40.0 IP, 3.38 ERA, 6.75 K/9, 2.70 BB/9 – 2, 2, 1 d.Quinn Priester (Mil, 24) – 67.2 IP, 3.46 ERA, 6.12 K/9, 3.46 BB/9 – 4, 4, 4 e.Hayden Birdsong (SF, 23) – 48.1 IP, 2.79 ERA, 9.50 K/9, 3.54 BB/9 – 3, 3, 3 3.Who would you rather roster the rest of the season? Over the next three years. a.Junior Caminero or Roman Anthony b.Jackson Holiday or Evan Carter c.Jackson Chourio or James Wood d.Agustin Ramirez or Tyler Soderstrom e.Wyatt Langford or Dylan Crews f.Chris Sale or Jacob deGrom g.Roki Sasaki or Jackson Jobe – Let’s do next five seasons on this one. h.Hunter Brown or Paul Skenes i.Garrett Crochet or Zack Wheeler j.Kodai Senga or Yamamoto 4.I received a question about a trade that I wanted to run by you. In a Dynasty League, should I acquire Yordan Alvarez and give up Chase Burns? Alvarez, if he comes back, could make a difference for the manager this season. However, what about the future? . a.How would you advise 5.Luke Weaver is set to return from the IL. Devin Williams has gone 5 for 5 in saves chances since Weaver went on the IL, posting a 2.89 ERA with 11 strikeouts and one walk. a.Who gets the saves in New York going forward? 6.Junior Caminero hit his 17th home run this week and is on track for 35. He has consistently made solid contact, but he doesn’t walk much. Are we looking at a very good player or a great player? a.Give me a comp. 7.Robert Suarez has back-to-back losses. First, it was the blow-up last Saturday where he gave up five earned runs. On Wednesday night, he gave up a home run when the game was tied. Worried? a.If you owned him, who would you be grabbing as a handcuff? b.Speaking of Suarez, Ranger is off to yet another great start. The same thing occurred last season, but he faltered late. As you know, I’ve always had a soft spot for him. Are you buying that he might be a #3/#4 starter or still want to see more? 8.Brady House made his debut this week. There wasn’t a ton of fanfare when he got the call, but he’s got some power. Will he make your waiver wire? 9.What one hitter are you targeting for this weekend’s FAAB 10.What one pitcher are you targeting for this weekend’s FAAB…

This time with a hamstring pull. 2.Clayton Kershaw with seven scoreless innings. That’s back-to-back solid games and he’s now posting a 3.25 ERA but the strikeouts are not there. Thoughts? 3.Zac Gallen with another Ehh start last night. His 5.19 ERA is well earned. 4.Hunter Dobbins with another win last night. I’m assuming you are recommending picking him up. We will look to see how he’s doing it. 5.Tyler Mahle hits the IL and gulp, Kumar Rocker is back. Any interest in Rocker? 6.Hey, didn’t you recommend Zach Agnos as the closer for the Rockies? Well, he got demoted. That’s an impossible team to handicap, no? 7.Emmet Sheehan will make a start with the Dodgers next week. I’m not sure he’s totally stretched out, but what’s your take on starting him? 8.You laughed at my Charlie Morton suggestion. Another solid outing on Saturday. Take 10 with Tim – June 13, 2025 Microsoft Teams: 1.Let’s take a look at the standings a.American League b.National League 2.Marcelo Mayer had two home runs on Wednesday. In three years, what stat line do you expect to see from him: BA, HR, and SB - .260, 25 HR, 10 SB a.What about the following young players (same stats): 1)Roman Anthony - .285, 35 HR, 10 SB 2)Nick Kurtz - .245, 30 HR, 0 SB 3)Jac Caglianone - .260, 40 HR, 0 SB 4)Dylan Crews - .270, 30 HR, 40 SB 5)Jasson Dominguez - .245, 25 HR, 20 SB b.Order all six players in who you would like to have for the entire career 3.With all the fanfare of Roman Anthony getting promoted, Grant Taylor was promoted as well. The White Sox are going to use him in the bullpen. He’s got a great arm (fastball averaged 100.5 in his first outing and hopefully will be a starter at some point (ala Chris Sale and Garrett Crochet). Do you think he can sneak into some saves in Chicago? 4.Jackson Jobe needs TJS. It’s just a shame, but it happens so often that we kind of shrug it off. TJS is down a bit this season. There were 92 last year across the minors and majors. This year, there are about 35 to 50 either done or in the hopper. a.We will discuss 5.Speaking of Tommy John Surgeries, things are not looking good for Justin Martinez. Does Shelby Miller get the opportunities in Arizona? 6.After two brutal starts, Jesus Luzardo pitched well on Wednesday. 6 IP, 1 ER, 10Ks. Are you ready to put him back in your lineup, or did you not take him out. He goes up against the Marlins a.Speaking of the Marlins, Sandy Alcantara finally pitched well on Wednesday. Do you think he improves in the second half, worse or about the same? 7.Surprising pitchers this season. Fact or fiction a.Andrew Abbott (Cin, ADP=482) – 62.2 IP, 6 wins, 64 Ks, 1.87 ERA b.Matthew Boyd (CHC, ADP=323) – 74.2 IP, 5 wins, 70Ks, 2.89 ERA c.Michael Wacha (KC, ADP=274) – 74.2 IP, 3 wins, 55Ks, 3.01 ERA d.Kris Bubic (KC, ADP=351) – 79.2 IP, 5 wins, 82Ks, 1.92 ERA e.Griffin Canning (NYM, ADP=460) – 64.1 IP, 6 wins, 61 Ks, 3.22 ERA f.Stephen Kolek (SD, ADP=459) – 42.0 IP, 3 wins, 29Ks, 3.00 ERA 8.Extra questions based on Thursday’s games 9.What one hitter are you targeting for FAAB this weekend? 10.What one pitcher are you targeting for FAAB this weekend?…

It’s unfortunate as he pitched his best game of the season on Wednesday with his first win. 3.Jacob deGrom continues to shove with another great outing on Saturday. Please provide me with five numbers, and we will discuss those five prospects. a.2 numbers in the Top 100 b.2 numbers in the Top 200 c.1 number after that. Make it in the 300s as after that, the fidelity of the work lessons. 2.Let’s take a look at the standings. 3.Pablo Lopez is out with a shoulder strain and will miss 8 to 12 weeks. He might be out for the season. Yikes. Tough blow to fantasy managers. Who do you think gets the starts? a.Hunter Greene is also on the IL again. Any thoughts on who will take his starts over the next month? b.Corbin Burnes. Uh oh. Going for a second opinion on his elbow. 4.Rob Manfred is proposing using an automated ball-strike challenge for the 2026 season. Since the league controls the rules committee, I’m assuming it will happen. What do you think? 5.Sawyer Gibson-Long is finally back and had a great matchup against the White Sox to ease back into things, but he did not pitch very well. He doesn’t throw hard but has a 70-grade slider and was pretty good in his four starts in 2023 before blowing out his elbow. I don’t recall him making a waiver wire of yours. Any interest? 6.I gave up on Lance McCullers and right on cue, he’s pitching great. Over his last four starts, he’s pitching to a 2.21 ERA with 29 strikeouts and six walks. WOW. Are you starting him with confidence? 7.What hitter are you targeting for this weekend’s FAAB? 8.What pitcher are you targeting for this weekend’s FAAB?…

Fantasy Baseball Live – June 1, 2025 Microsoft Teams: Segments 1 and 2 – Review the weekend games Additional Discussion Points 1.Jesus Luzardo – That’ll leave a mark. 3.1 IP and 12 ER (4Ks though) as the Brewers annihilate him. a.Chourio went 4 for 5 with five RBIs, but no home run b.Rhys Hoskins with two home runs 2.Brandon Pfaadt – 0.0 IP 6 ER. Another yikes 3.Junior Caminero had two more home runs on Saturday. He’s up to 13, four in the last week. 4.Eddie Cabrera has delivered back-to-back impressive starts. I recently performed a breakdown on baseballsavant, suggesting that while he has made some adjustments to his pitch mix, I still see him as a 4.50 to 5.00 ERA pitcher. Should I re-evaluate? 5.Skubal with another great outing: 7 IP, 0 ER, 7K/0BB, but he was met pitch by pitch with Michael Wacha. He has a 2.88 ERA. Thoughts on Wacha? 6.Acuna with his third home run in a week. Yelp…a lot of rust there. He’s hitting .367 7.Cole Young gets the call for the Mariners. Will he play enough to make your waiver wire? 8.The Orioles need more games against the White Sox. a.Rockies are still at nine wins 9.Ohtani is up to 22 home runs after he hit two off of Max Fried. a.Vesia got the save. 10.Carlos Correa has been playing better. Take 10 with Tim – May 30, 2025 – 9:30/8:30 am - 45 minutes to an hour 1.We briefly discussed Gavin Sheets on Sunday and I got a note from one of our Patreon members that said he changed his swing and this was real. Take 10 with Tim – May 23, 2025 @ 9:30 am 1.I know everyone loves Juan Soto, but with eight home runs and a .247 batting average after 30% of the games played this season, it looks a lot like 2022 when he hit 27 home runs and had a .242 average. He is stealing bases, which helps, but should owners be worried? Is this the player they drafted? a.He’s also been criticized for his lack of hustle. Do you think that now that he’s being paid, he’s lost something? 2.Sal Perez and Adley Rutschman hit home runs on Wednesday. It was Adley’s first home run since April 20, and he’s barely hitting above the Mendoza line. Perez last hit a home run on April 13 and is also just above the Mendoza line. Who are you more concerned about for the rest of the season? 3.Dylan Crews will be out for a while after suffering an oblique strain on Tuesday. Robert Hassell III gets the call. He’s far from the player everyone expected when he was drafted by the Padres in the first round in 2020, but he’s played alright this season, with a .288 batting average, four home runs, and nine stolen bases. What do you expect, and how long do you think he’ll be out? 4.Patrick Corbin looked like he was playing out the string after signing that great contract with Washington. He went unowned in most leagues. This year, he’s been a different guy. Pitching for Texas, he’s won three games and posting a 3.59 ERA. However, he’s not striking out many (6.75 K/9) and his xERA is 4.56. a.You can’t sell high (maybe you can), but what do you do here? Keep starting him every week? Pick and choose based on matchups? Something else? 5.In the past three games, Will Warren has a record of 2-0, with a 1.50 ERA and a 13:1 strikeout-to-walk ratio. He has lowered his ERA to 4.05. Is this merely a hot streak, or are we witnessing a breakout? 6.Matt Shaw returns to the Cubs, and Moises Ballesteros is sent down. This is Shaw’s second chance. Will this time be better? 7.Rank the Top 10 pitchers you would like to own over the rest of the season. 1)Skubal 2)Skenes 3)Yamamoto 4)Wheeler 5)Fried 6)Brown 7)deGrom 8)Senga 9)Bibee 10)Warren 8.If something pops up today, we will include 9.What one hitter are you targeting in this weekend’s FAAB? Robert Hassell III (OF, Was) 10.What one pitcher are you targeting in this weekend’s FAAB? Daniel Palenecia (RHP, CHC)…
