Infertility is when a person cannot get pregnant after a year of trying or cannot carry a pregnancy to term. It affects both men and women and can be caused by issues like hormone problems, genetic conditions, lifestyle factors, or certain medical conditions. Women may face infertility due to conditions like polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), endometriosis, or blocked fallopian tubes, while men might have low sperm count or poor sperm movement. Infertility can cause emotional stress and relationship problems. However, medical advances like in vitro fertilization (IVF) and other assisted reproductive technologies (ART) offer hope for those struggling with infertility, providing new ways to become parents.
