Randi drops the bombshell: "...most of us have been pushed into other timelines where they have literally worn down our Energy System in whatever projects they have found fruitful for them so they could continue their "progression Sciences," their continued developmental programs because one of the things that are important in the mission statements from the future was that we had Gene codes to recalibrate and restore genes. And that's a huge bomb. That's why we've been targeted so hard and pushed into so many negative programs because they're literally trying to extract that code from our Energy System so they can apply to their own. They have used many of the future human civilizations that have come back -- traveled back in time -- to be the Breeders within their programs. We didn't know that when we came here."…

One reason this blog post and podcast series came about could likely be due to my meditation practice becoming stale and now provides an outlet for a somewhat more advanced level where details are dived into. If and when exploring this sutta on your own, it's recommended to drop the intricate, sometimes tedious language I go into here to the fullest extent possible. It's important to remember my intent here of placing plenty under a spiritual microscope to merely visit modes of deconstruction and analysis for study and (formal) practice possibilities, not as a general normalized mode of living. And while I go into minute details pertaining to this sutta please keep in mind it's likely more helpful not to keep considering this sutta in isolation but within the broader context of the Buddha's (other) teachings.…

Apparently November 2021 was a break so December is month 4 of "The Pāramitā Challenge" (which I previously wrote and spoke on the first three months.) In addition to contemplating topics about the Pāramitās or Perfections, so far, this challenge also includes precepts, the (10 Abodes from the) 52 Stages of the Bodhisattva Path and Bodhisattva vows. Instructions are to journal contemplations resulting from observed intentions, opportunities, and actions to be generous, moral and ethical while arousing faith in the Triple Gem then seeing where/when confident and where/when in doubt. This month includes the Pāramitā on diligence, the Right Speech precept (also doubling as a past Insight Timer live event) and the middle stages of the 10 Abodes from the 52 Stages of the Bodhisattva.…

When presented with "The Pāramitā Challenge" I accepted and here we are. In addition to the Pāramitās or Perfections, so far, the challenge also includes precepts and the 52 Stages of the Bodhisattva Path and Bodhisattva vows. So far, instructions are to journal contemplations resulting from observed intentions, opportunities, and actions to be generous, moral and ethical while arousing faith in the Triple Gem then seeing where/when confident and where/when in doubt. I've not taken Bodhisattva vows, and so with little instruction in Mahāyāna Buddhism, apart from maybe a smidgen of the zen stuff, there's the benefit of beginner's mind is a nice way to put it. I shoot from the hip with a lot in this recording and will often use a Theravada lens and a lot of inquiry as I ponder out loud. It may come off at times as criticism and sometimes it may actually be, but these are mostly solo efforts at summonings what is really meant by the material.…
For this month’s regular open-audience, open-discussion “Ask Us Anything” — continuing discussions about meditation and related topics — Denny and I hosted a open roundtable on "Practice-in-place" with fellow Insight Timer teacher Lydia Grace and Joanne Muir. The term "Practice-in-place" comes as a wise meditative response to "Shelter-in-place" induced by reactions to Co-V. While we touch on many topics we mainly discuss ramifications in now using more technology in our practices and sessions.…

Meditation: Meditate continuously for three minutes on an object Contemplation: Able to keep attention on the object the entire time? If not, why is that? If yes, did the quality and degree of attention change? Why can’t we lock a consistent, unchanging attention to something without it wavering, or changing, or without distraction? Perhaps then consider that in life, and especially noticeable in meditation, we sometimes think we should able to keep a consistent, unchanging attention to something. Maybe we can now better see how this erroneous view of deceptively defaulting to expecting constancies in life can result in stress and unsatisfactoriness…
For this month’s regular open-audience, open-discussion “Ask Us Anything” — continuing discussions about meditation and related topics — Denny and I talk about caring for caregivers. This meditation (recorded live) aims to strengthen and deepen the 32 Parts of the Body portion of Body Contemplation in the Four Foundations of Mindfulness -- not meant as regular practice or substitute. Partial inspiration comes from this Four Foundations of Mindfulness visual: "Just as if there were a double-mouthed provision bag full of various kinds of grain such as hill paddy, paddy, green gram, cow-peas, sesamum, and husked rice, and a man with sound eyes, having opened that bag, were to take stock of the contents thus: "This is hill paddy, this is paddy, this is green gram, this is cow-pea, this is sesamum, this is husked rice." Just so, monks, a monk reflects on this very body enveloped by the skin and full of manifold impurity, from the soles up, and from the top of the head-hairs down, thinking thus: "There are in this body hair of the head, hair of the body, nails, teeth, skin, flesh, sinews, bones, marrow, kidney, heart, liver, midriff, spleen, lungs, intestines, mesentery, gorge, feces, bile, phlegm, pus, blood, sweat, fat, tears, grease, saliva, nasal mucus, synovial fluid, urine." ~The Foundations of Mindfulness -- Satipatthana Sutta…

Dhamma and meditation teacher Beth Upton -- who's other chats I've posted -- recently held a three part event with Dharma Gates called "Truth, Suffering and Liberation". I've edited out most everything except my responses to Beth's questions and her responses to me so please watch the full video at the end of this post especially if requiring more context. Beth read an excerpt of the Aggañña Sutta about the origin of human kind on planet earth then linked our suffering, caused by the defilements (dramatic depicted in the sutta) to the Buddha's antidote: the The Universal Beautiful Mental Factors (sobhanasādhāraṇa). Beth then offered a short teaching followed by a guided meditation and discussion on her condensed and more practical version of these Mental Factors from the Abhidhamma which are: • Faith • Mindfulness • Non-greed • Non-hatred • Morality • Balance • Tranquility • Lightness • Softness • Flexibility • Uprightness/Authenticity/Truthfulness • Proficiency This post includes my responses (in an edited video) to Beth's group-guiding questions along with a few new written responses.…
