How Sobriety Saved Laura’s Life After She Nearly Lost Everything
Manage episode 475892380 series 3594257
This one hit deep. I sat down with my friend Laura, a former D1 athlete, sobriety warrior, and absolute powerhouse of resilience, to unpack the kind of life-altering moments that shake you to your core and show you what you're really made of.
Laura’s story is wild. From nearly playing pro soccer to hitting rock bottom in addiction, to eight years sober, surviving a traumatic brain injury, and battling black mold toxicity, this woman has been through it. But what blew me away most was how she still shows up, not as a victim, but as a fighter. She talked about healing from the inside out, what sobriety really feels like, and the invisible wounds that too many of us carry in silence.
We also talked about childhood trauma, the pressure of performance, faith, purpose, and the cost of always running from the pain. Laura reminded me, and hopefully reminds you, that healing isn't linear, but it’s always possible.
If you’ve ever felt like life knocked you down one too many times, this one’s for you.
Hit play. You won’t walk away the same.
