Beach lovers and wave riders, get ready for a sun-soaked coastal adventure! Thursday's looking like a picture-perfect beach day across New York's shoreline. We're talking sunny skies, southwest winds around 10 miles per hour, and some seriously epic conditions.
Surf's up with 2 to 3 foot waves across Brooklyn, Rockaway, and Long Island beaches. But heads up - we've got a moderate rip current risk, so swim smart and stick close to the lifeguards. The UV index is cranking at very high, so slather on that sunscreen and protect your skin.
Temperature-wise, you'll be cruising in the mid-80s around Brooklyn and Rockaway, dropping to around 80 near Long Island's beaches. Water temps are sitting pretty in the mid-60s, perfect for cooling off.
Tide schedule highlights: Coney Island sees high tide at 9:14 AM, while Jones Inlet peaks at 8:58 AM. Sunrise kicks off early at 5:25 AM, with a sunset lingering until 8:27 PM - giving you plenty of daylight to soak up those rays.
Friday brings a mellower scene - rip current risk drops to low, waves settle around 2 feet, and you'll see mostly sunny skies. Temperatures cool down to the mid-70s with gentle east winds.
Weekend forecast takes a cloudy turn with potential showers and temperatures dipping into the upper 60s. So grab your beach gear, stay weather-aware, and get ready to ride those waves responsibly!
Stay safe, surf smart, and enjoy the ocean playground!
