Beach lovers, get ready for a sizzling Thursday along the New York coastline! The surf's calling with some moderate rip current action, so listen up and stay safe.
From Brooklyn's Coney Island to the Rockaways, we're looking at a picture-perfect beach day. Expect sunny skies and temperatures climbing into the mid-80s with west winds around 10 miles per hour. The surf's sitting pretty at around 2 feet, but don't let that calm surface fool you - rip currents are definitely in play.
UV index is screaming very high, so sunscreen is your best friend today. Surf temperature hovers in the mid-60s, perfect for a refreshing dip. High tide at Coney Island hits at 9:14 AM, with low tide rolling in at 3:03 PM.
Heads up for Friday - things are going to shift. We're looking at partly sunny conditions with a chance of early morning showers. Temperatures will drop to the lower 70s, and those southwest winds will calm down to an easy east breeze at 5 to 10 miles per hour. Rip current risk drops to low, but always stay alert.
The weekend's forecast is looking cloudy with potential showers. Saturday and Sunday will see temperatures in the upper 60s with east winds around 10 miles per hour. Monday continues the cloudy trend with a slight chance of showers.
Remember beach warriors: always swim near a lifeguard, pack that flotation device, and if you get caught in a rip current, stay calm and float. Swim parallel to the shore if you can.
Stay safe, stay cool, and enjoy those New York waves!
