PART ONE:

“Kimbely Akimbo” is an unassuming name for a fantastic not-to-be-missed Tony Award-winning Best Broadway musical! Kimberly is a teenager who recently moved with her family to a new town in suburban new Jersey where she deals with family dysfunction and a rare genetic condition, her first crush…not to mention possible felony charges thanks to an Aunt who is always up to no good! But thru it all, Kimberly remains an optimist who is determined to find happiness no matter what the challenges and against all odds.

Playing the lead is three-time Tony nominee Carolee Carmello (known for incredible performances in Mamma Mia, Sister Act, 1776, Bad Cinderella, Hello Dolly, Evita and a history of concert performances at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall and Town Hall). Joining Carolee are several members who were part of the original Broadway cast now part of the national tour.

Broadway/Cabaret Star Liz Callaway Celebrates Sondheim at Studebaker Theater: June 14th, ONE NIGHT ONLY!

Liz Callaway is truly one of Chicago’s Very Own. In this appearance Liz pays tribute to Stephen Sondheim who truly changed the landscape of musical theater in a way few have over the last 100 years. Liz has performed this tribute in many US cities and worldwide, but this is the first time she performs it in Chicago. Having performed in Sondheim’s Merrily We Roll Along, this is opportunity to celebrate the “work of the Master” with a carefully selected selection of songs that will honor and pay tribute to the mastery of Stephen Sondheim.

Liz Callaway in a Tony and Grammy nominee and Emmy winner. Known for her work in Miss Saigon, the Look of Loe and appearing for 5 years as Grizabella in Cats, she also appeared in A Stephen Sondheim Evening, the legendary Follies in Concert at Lincoln Center as well as Sunday in the Park with George, played “Norma Desmond” in Sunset Boulevard and appeared in the European premiere of Sondheim on Sondheim at London’s Royal Festival Hall.

Her work includes singing the Academy Award-nominated song “Journey to the Past” in the animated feature Anastasia, along with film work in the two Aladdin sequels, Beauty and the Beast and many more.
