Isaiah 18 is a prophecy filled with vivid imagery and symbolic language.

The heart of the prophecy lies in the promise of God's judgment and subsequent restoration. The Lord will act with swift and decisive judgment, pruning and cutting down as He sees fit.

This judgment, however, is not the end, but rather a prelude to a time of redemption.

But how can we best come to terms with God's timing being incompatible with our human desire to see things happen quickly?
