Welcome to The Daily Quote – a podcast designed to kickstart your day in a positive way. I'm your host, Andrew McGivern, for April 28th.

Today, we’re celebrating Global Pay It Forward Day, a holiday dedicated to spreading random acts of kindness without expecting anything in return. The idea is simple: do something nice for someone, and instead of paying you back, they’re encouraged to "pay it forward" to someone else. It's like a generosity pyramid scheme or chain letter—except you won't get arrested for it.

Now, today's quote fits perfectly with this spirit of giving from Anne Frank, who once said:

"No one has ever become poor by giving."

Anne Frank was a young Jewish girl whose diary, written while hiding during the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands, became one of the world’s most poignant testimonies to hope and humanity. Her words have inspired millions, proving that even in the darkest times, kindness and courage can still shine through.

This quote fits in perfectly with Global Pay It Forward Day.

When you think about it, generosity is one of the few investments that guarantees a return—maybe not in dollars, but certainly in joy, connection, and a feeling that you’ve made someone's day a little bit lighter. Today, on Global Pay It Forward Day, I encourage you to take Anne’s words to heart: whether it’s buying a coffee for the person behind you, offering a sincere compliment, or just holding the door open with a smile, remember—you’re never poorer for giving. You’re richer, in all the ways that actually matter.

I recently heard Tony Robbins talking about when he was a kid his family was very poor and they didn't have money to cook a nice meal for Thanksgiving. A guy showed up with a Turkey and all the fixings and didn't ask for anything in return. This changed Tony's life and he vowed he would feed a couple people the next year. And now he is providing billions of meals world wide. You never know the impact that paying it forward can have.

That's it for now. I'm Andrew McGivern signing off for today. But I'll be back tomorrow, same pod time, same pod station with another Daily Quote.
