Why Do I Feel Numb Inside? What’s Wrong With Me?

Sometimes the pain becomes too much, and instead of feeling it, we go numb. It’s like our heart puts up a wall just to survive the day. You might feel empty, disconnected—even from God—and wonder, What’s wrong with me?

First, hear this: there is nothing wrong with you. Numbness is often the heart’s way of saying, I’ve been through too much. It may come from loss, trauma, burnout, or deep disappointment. But even when you feel nothing, God is still near.

David cried out in Psalm 13:1, “How long, O Lord? Will you forget me forever?” Even he felt abandoned and numb. But feelings are not the measure of faith. God is with you in the silence, in the ache, and even in the numbness.

Isaiah 42:3 promises, “A bruised reed He will not break.” God holds you gently. He understands what you can't put into words. He invites you not to push past your numbness but to bring it to Him.

Let His love be the warmth that slowly melts the ice. Healing takes time. You're not broken beyond repair—you're just in need of tender care. And that’s exactly what God offers.
